Το CLLD / LEADER είναι η προσέγγιση της τοπικής ανάπτυξης με πρωτοβουλία των τοπικών κοινοτήτων.

“CLLD”, from the initials of “COMMUNITY-LED LOCAL DEVELOPMENT”, is the method of designing and implementing development strategies based on the LEADER “bottom-up” approach. It applies to the 2014-2020 period and is its most innovative element, because it provides for the joint use of 4 funds, namely:

  • European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)
  • European Social Fund (ESF)
  • European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
  • European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF)

It provides for public and private interventions, such as:

  • Strengthening infrastructure and services,
  • Supporting employment and entrepreneurship,
  • “Intangible” interventions for networking and building local capacity.

Each Local Action Group (LAG) will choose one main and several complementary themes of local development, which must be in line with the strategy of the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 and may, for example, concern:

  • Linking sectors and economic players.
  • Linking the countryside with urban areas.
  • Supporting local entrepreneurship and highlighting local identity.
  • Social actions for social cohesion and the fight against poverty.
  • Promoting participation, cooperation, networking and the exchange of know-how between different areas, partners and countries.
  • Supporting youth and women's entrepreneurship.
  • Strengthening territorial innovation and competitiveness clusters.

Establishing short supply chains.
Supporting local plans for protecting the environment, tackling climate change, and management plans for Natura 2000 areas.
